In accordance with the Housing Ministry’s pledge to build one million affordable homes by 2028, the state government of Selangor targets to provide around 30,000 units of low-cost dwellings over the next six years, said Chief Minister Amirudin Shari in a report by The Star.

“So far, we have handed over the keys for 3,770 units. The rest will be built under the Selangor government’s Rumah Selangorku initiative.”

“I have (also) instructed developers to intensify the construction of Rumah Selangorku developments so that more people can enjoy the benefits,” he said at the unveiling of Rumah Selangorku Idaman Residensi at Section 6 in Selangor Cyber Valley, Cyberjaya.

This development will offer affordable houses costing RM232,000 each and numbering 864 units, including four units designed for people with disabilities.

Anticipated to be fit for occupation by mid-2021 with the receipt of the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), each Rumah Selangorku unit will come with two bathrooms and three bedrooms, in addition to two parking spaces allocated to homebuyers.

Meanwhile, Selangor State Development Corporation’s (PKNS) acting CEO Norita Mohd Sidek revealed that Selangor Cyber Valley is the 11th township project carried out by the company. In addition, it is envisioned as a smart city.

“This means it has the concept of a safe city that is business-friendly and efficient. Thus, making it a vibrant and sustainable city. It will also be reinforced with the ‘Internet of things’ and well-connected in terms of infrastructure and accessibility,” she added.
